COMM380-02A Special Topics: Sexual Communication (with Cassandra Alexopoulos)
Sexual Communication will focus on the role of sexual interaction and communication in the initiation and maintenance of relationships. Sexual communication will be examined in a variety of contexts (e.g., within the family, institutions, and the media) and relationship types (e.g. short-term and long-term). Seminar topics will include, but are not limited to, sexual norms, hook-up culture, sexual consent, and sexual health and education. Discussion of these topics will be rooted in theory and research in the communication and psychology disciplines.
