GISD697-02C Special Topics: College Based Transitions Services Policies and Practices (with Clare Papay)
In this 13-week, fully online graduate-level course, we orient students to college-based transition services (CBTS). Topics include laws and federal guidance that support college-based transition services and inclusive post-secondary education, foundational principles of community-based transition services, key components of transition services on a college campus, and interagency collaboration activities that are necessary to establish and maintain CBTS. Students taking this course will assess the policies and practices in place at their own school to establish a college-based transition program using the CBTS Checklist and consult with a CBTS coordinator to establish an action plan. Action plan goals will be developed to establish or enhance college-based transition services.
